Genesis 37-50 - Joseph

What we can learn from the story of Joseph - What it means to stay faithful.


Lessons from the story of Joseph:

1. No Matter how wrong you are always do right in God's sight
- No matter how unfair you are treated walk in righteousness
- Live right, be honest, obey God in hard times


2. No Matter the Circumstance Bless Others
- Think of others first
- Genesis 50:20 Joseph saw he was suppose to be a blessing to others
- 5% of all Christians give 60% of all gifts given to the church


3. God is in Control
- Genesis 45:5-8 Joseph acknowledges that it was God that sent him to Egypt not his brothers
- God is sovereign and his plans will be accomplished


4. God is with us
- Genesis 39:2-3, 21 It is repeated over and over again


5. You will Get Through it!
- You will be okay
- How many times in the bible does it say, "It came to pass..."
- Isaiah 43:1


What will you look like on the other side of difficult times? Will you look like Joseph--he was faithful. Joseph teaches us that in all circumstances to be faithful.
