March 29, 2008 – David Uth – Going & Not Knowing
Hebrew 11:8-10
- Dogs are comfortable in their own yard. Swimming is easier when you can touch the bottom.
- Abraham went out not knowing.
- Without faith it is impossible to please God.
Lessons:
1. Our going is not based upon what but on whom
We don’t have to know what when God tells you to go. He shows Himself. Worship is grounded in God. A pro and con list or a balance sheet doesn’t matter if God is on the pro side.
God is looking for our belief. How do you believe? You have to trust Him. The more you trust Him the more you know Him. If you trust Him you are crazy not to obey Him.
2. Our going is about whose we are
God’s name is on the deed to your life. Are you trying to take back your life? Your home is with Him. You possessions one day will be gone. Stuff doesn’t last. Hold life loosely. Dead people don’t need pockets.
3. Our going gets us God’s reward.
Don’t miss anything God has in store for you. Our going never stops or never ends. It is a daily thing. When you will settle for nothing less than God’s reward you will go. When you fear the enemy you are at risk to stop going. When God says go—GO!
The journey starts with one step.
