John 10:1-5, 14-15
God has a wonderful message for us and we need to hear it. The world around us is loud-full of white noise. There is only one voice we need to hear. We need to learn and listen to it. Wouldn't it be great if we could recognize God's voice as easily as other voices we know: Dep. Barney Fife, Gomer Pile, Lucille Ball, Curly, Darth Vader, Yoda, and Forest Gump.
Just like in Alice in Wonderland, the Cheshire Cat asks Alice where she is going.

"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where –" said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go," said the Cat.
"– so long as I get somewhere," Alice added as an explanation.
"Oh, you're sure to do that," said the Cat, "if you only walk long
enough."
What God says means more to us than anyone else. It doesn't matter what he says. We need to remove our own will, our need to hear what we want to hear. Our destination is to do his will.
In John 10, Jesus is referring to how sheep know their Shepard. They can distinguish their Shepard's voice from a stranger because they know him, he owns them, he cares for them. There is an intimate relationship between the Shepard and his sheep.
So why is it so difficult for us to hear our Shepard's voice?
Misunderstandings about God's Will:1. God's will is for us to be happy
- No! He wants us to be Holy not necessarily happy
- He wants our sanctification
- Emotion is dangerous to follow
2. It is Not a Formula
- Not mechanical or mathematical

3. It is not a dot- It is a circle
- His will doesn't limit us to just one thing.
- He gives us a pasture, His word, truth, and boundaries to work within.
God's Will begins in a relationship--It is about a relationship!
John 10:25-30
The sheep don't know a strangers so they only follow the voice of their Shepard. They belong to Him and He loves them.
We you sense Him and obey Him, hearing Him gets easier.
The closer you get to people the more you know their ways. The closer you get to God the easier it is to hear His voice. God whispers because He wants you to move closer.
The ways to hear God's voice:
1. Build a relationship
2. Know your purpose. It is to obey Him.
3. The Result - you will be blessed and He will be glorified when you are in the center of His will.
We will find the sweet spot of life when we are at the center of His will.
For the next two weeks read a Psalm a day.
