Vantage Point

John 19:26-27

Mary is not the mother of the universe or our savior. She was blessed by God but she needed a savior too. Mary stands alone as the sole person that was there for everything-birth through death.

She Saw The Cross From 3 Perspectives:

1. Humility - Luke 1:46
What we know about Mary: she was overwhelmed, young, and poor. She was devought in her faith, knew her scripture, and loved Joseph. The first thing she said when the angel Gabriel came to her was that she was the Lord's servant and may it be as you said Luke 1:38 God chooses the small, weak, poor, the nobodies to do the most impactful work.

2. Memories - Luke 2:19
Mary treasured up, which means to cherish and put in a safe place. Luke 1:51 Sometimes in the dark you have to remember what He did for you in the light. Mary saw memories of what she had treasured up.

3. Trust - John 2:4, 34, 35
Mary never got in the way of God's plan. When Jesus turned water into wine Mary told everyone to listen to whatever Jesus said. When Mary brought Jesus to the temple for the first time there was a reference to him being pierced for our transgressions - the sword will pierce our souls. She was at the cross. She sat in silence because she trusted God.

We always come back to the statement: I am your servant and may your will be done. Mary wasn't at the tomb when Jesus raised from the dead. You can't touch Him today so you just believe.
