Vantage Point, Part 3 "Peter"

Luke 22:31-35, 54-62

1. Failure Happens
Peter was the one that was the least likely to deny Jesus. He was the leader and the spokesperson. If Peter can deny Him then we surely can. It happens to all of us and we are not alone. At the biggest moment Peter failed.

2. Failure Hurts
Luke 22:62 -Bitterly means, poignant grief or intense regret. Imagine the intense pain Peter must have felt when Jesus turned to look at him after he denied him.

3. Failure Heals
Luke 24:34, 1 Corinthians 15:5 Jesus choose Peter to reveal himself to after He arose. Jesus must have given him a "do-over." We heal when we encounter Christ. God can still use use no matter our failures. We serve a Christ who lets us fail but keeps coming back to us. He gives us another opportunity.

Just like in sports. If the best player messes up and time on the clock is winding down in the game, give the ball to them again for the final play - run the same play. Just because you mess up doesn't mean you can do things right now.

You can recover from failure.
