He is with Me

Psalm 139:7-12

Is God everywhere with you? So much of our language puts God at a distance. If he is only in a few places, you need to know he is everywhere. You will never go anywhere without Him. God is with us. Who are we? We are His child, His creation. Don't settle for anything less than God's word.

Omnipresent = being present everywhere all at once


3 Simple Truths

1. You will never run away from Him
If he is in the extreme of places described in the scripture then he is everywhere. Where can you go to get away from God? Darkness doesn't cover you or your sin. If you think you are doing a good job hiding from God you are crazy! Jonah ran from God but everything else in the book obeyed God. God owns the world--the universe. We can't go anywhere without God.

2. You are never alone
Stop trusting feelings and start trusting your faith. God is with us. We only see Him in the big things but He is at the office, in the car, and all the small places too. He is in the mundane, the everyday, the commonplace. We sense Him on Sunday but He is there on Tuesday, Wednesday, etc.

3. You never have to fear
Some have the idea that God is out to get us. He would have already got you because you are not hard to get. He will hold you and guide you.

Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Darkness is symbolic of fear. There is no darkness with God--he is light! It isn't dark to Him. Fear not - God is with us and we are not alone.

If God were standing behind you what would you do? Doesn't matter He is already standing behind you!
